HERE’S WHAT TO DO WITH ALL THAT KALE FROM YOUR WINTER CSA.
Ingredients
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Cream butter and sugar. Add egg, vanilla, molasses, and maple syrup; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients, and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto baking sheet. Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
- Make filling: Cream together butter and sugar, beating until pale and fluffy. Add marshmallow fluff and vanilla and maple extracts; continue mixing until well blended. Let cookies cool completely before sandwiching two around a dollop of the filling.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (1 stick)
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup cooking molasses
- 1/4 cup Grade B maple syrup
- 2 cup sifted flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup quick-cook oatmeal
FILLING
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
- 1 (7 1/2 oz.) jar marshmallow fluff
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 tsp. maple extract
